Over the past 8 years Leslie Cornell has been exhibiting at The Royal Cornwall Show, www.royalcornwallshow.org promoting the use of Cob as a sustainable building material.
In addition, continuing to demonstrate awareness to preserve Cob walls in Cornwall and provide a better understanding into the benefits, methods and maintenance of such a natural and sustainable building material that is part of Cornwall`s heritage.
Along with family members, staff and volunteers, this year’s show is set to be another success with Cob Block making for all the family, a Cob wall construction, advice and if you are lucky a cup of tea!
Over the three days, Leslie Cornell, will be providing information about the uses, history, maintenance and future acknowledgement and understanding of this wonderful material.
Promoting the Cornish Cob Society through this event will gain more public attention and hopefully some media to show the county that this traditional building medium is far from stuck in the mud!
More awareness and publicity is key to the success of a fuller understanding of Cob. One way Leslie Cornell is providing this is through the ‘Cob in Schools Programme’.
If you would like to know more please see our Blog. In addition to this, Leslie Cornell, provides talks, lectures, demonstrations to the public and private sector. Interest has been shown from many places such as surveyors whom want a better understanding of Cob, its structural values and how to ensure a Cob property lasts another 200 years.
